Why Long Bay Beach is One of the Best Beaches in the Turks and Caicos

When you think of the Turks and Caicos, chances are you think of Grace Bay Beach—and with good reason. With its three miles of powdery white sand and clear, turquoise ocean, it’s no wonder it’s consistently ranked one of the top beaches in the world. But the secret’s out. And here on the little island of Providenciales, there are actually a number of gorgeous beaches waiting to be explored. One beach that we think gives Grace Bay a run for its money: Long Bay Beach.

Also three miles long, Long Bay Beach is located on the southern shore of Providenciales (or Provo, as locals call it). Long Bay lacks the retail development of Grace Bay, although word is slowly getting out. Its calm, shallow—and yes, strikingly blue—water makes it the ideal beach for a number of people, whether you want to try kiteboarding or simply stroll the shore in search of conch shells.
